Compensation Survey

The Annual Compensation Survey for Paralegals/Legal Assistants and Managers ("the Survey") tracks compensation, billing rates and billable hours for paralegals and paralegal managers. More than 250 organizations participated in the 2009 survey (180 law firms and 72 law departments), representing a total of 10,613 paralegal positions. Conducted since 2002, the study was produced by Incisive Legal Intelligence (now known as ALM Legal Intelligence) in conjunction with the International Paralegal Management Association.

The Survey contains detailed reports on:

• Salary, bonus and overtime amounts
• National, regional and metropolitan area trends
• Practice area and industry breakdowns
• Details by size of organization and years of experience

The Annual Compensation Survey for Paralegals/Legal Assistants and Managers, 2009 Edition, is available on CD and is priced based on survey questionnaire participation and IPMA membership.

2010 Survey Details
The 2010 Annual Compensation Survey for Paralegals/Legal Assistants and Managers, a valuable management tool that is a joint effort of the IPMA and ALM Legal Intelligence, is currently in the data gathering mode. If you or your employer did not receive the questionnaire mailing sent the week of January 11, 2010, the questionnaire form as well as the electronic version of the form to submit via the Internet can be found at the ALM Legal Intelligence site for this survey.

Participation makes the survey more valuable to all so please participate this year. The deadline for questionnaire submission is March 5, 2010. Extension of this deadline is not anticipated so place this important date on your calendar.
